Donn Jones just sent these over.  The lake is melting and he reports puddles everywhere.  Over 50 degrees, amazing considering tomorrow's high will be near zero.  Donn reported that since the weather was so nice he went around and raked up any left over leaves at everyone's cabin.  OK, maybe not.  But I do appreciate the photos Donn sends over to give us all an update on what the lake looks like.  I get hits on the website from all over the U.S. and other countries regularly.  Everyone is watching.  Thanks Donn.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone donated one of these floating lights to the beach area?  Our Park District uses them at the lagoon.  They're guaranteed to work.

I'm having a photo contest.  Submit your favorite photo from our lake.  It doesn't matter how old it is, just one of your favorite moments while enjoying your time at Lake of the Oaks.  If I choose it, I'll post it on the website and send you this 3 pack of seasonings shakers.  The contest ends on January 30th.  Email it to me at [email protected]  Please be sure to leave me your contact information so I can get these seasonings to you if you win.

It's cold at the lake.  My computer said it was -4 degrees but I haven't heard from anyone actually there.  Hopefully everyone is staying warm and inside.  Will there be anyone ice fishing this year

Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.

    The how and why.

Years ago when I was looking for a lake front cabin I stumbled across a realtor ad for Lake of the Oaks.  There was nothing on the web about our lake.

Everything had to be learned by chasing people down and making phone calls.  I couldn't believe that in the age of the Internet,  information about the lake was left in the Stone Age.  I decided to do something about that when I became an owner.

Always interested in technology, I enjoy providing information and updates to fellow owners and prospects. Please let me know if its working.
