Here's the most well behaved person at the supper tonight. As you can see, he's into pumpkins. The dinner was great and many thanks to Dave and Jae Powell for organizing and cooking the chili, chicken noodle soup, and the bbq pork. the clubhouse was full and the raffle did well.

Don't forget the Chili supper at the clubhouse this Saturday at 5 pm! Also at the clubhouse, if you are an early bird, the board meeting is at 8:20 am on Saturday. It's always interesting to see how our association is managed. Plus you'll learn who's building what and when, etc.
Whew! Now I don't have to worry about posting the photos of cute kids and puppies. That seal photo did it's job. As of today we are up to $3,400. I'm hoping to get a few more participants to help soak up taxes and shipping costs as I purchase some items. Also, I want to make sure we are getting high quality commercial grade equipment so it lasts. No Wal-Mart shopping on this project. In the next couple of weeks I'll put my plan together and share it with you through the blog posts. Please feel free to send me any ideas you have or comments on what I'm thinking. You can post them on a blog response or email me directly. I'll also share some ideas that have been given to me already.
30% of our fellow lake owners have participated in the donations. That's a great number considering that many don't know me from Adam. Also, it illustrates that this must be a good cause because it has drawn this much interest from the members. I'm $275 away from my goal for the beach project. I'll pull out cute photos of kids and puppies next if I have to. Here's a cute seal. I'd like to say that by donating to the beach project you would be saving a seal, but I don't personally know any seals that need saved. But you get the point. Any and all donations help and the goal is very close to being achieved. If you haven't donated yet, please consider doing so and drop it in the mail to: Tom Hornstein, 7 Prestwick Drive, Pekin, IL 61554. Please put "Beach Project" on the memo line. Thank you. Just over 16% of our fellow lake owners have donated to the beach project. I will be sending out reminder postcards to everyone who hasn't donated to the beach project yet. Not to bug them but to gently remind them. If anyone else is like me, sometimes I put things to the side and tell myself I won't forget to get back to it. But I generally do forget. So for anyone that's like me, your postcard is on it's way. We're are up to $2,300 and I'd like to go over our goal by a bit if at all possible. If you talk to any of your fellow association members, please ask them if they have donated yet. It will benefit all of us, not just those who use the beach. |
