Some much needed work was done at the beach today. The ditch around the beach was dug out and regraded. Sand that had eroded into the water was reclaimed as well and used to fill in some of the low spots. It will all be finished tomorrow. A big thank you goes to our Association President, Mark Bigelow for donating the use of his tractor. About 4 hours were put in today and it would have been much more if we didn't have the proper equipment. Thank you to Hume, Daryl, and Bob as well.
The Kids' Fishing Derby will be on July 2nd at 9 am. Go fill up on pancakes from 7 to 9 at the clubhouse, but be ready to throw the lines in at 9. Sara and Joey Fryer were kind enough to take on organizing the derby this year. They have a number of sponsors from local businesses and it will be a great time. Numbers in the past have ranged from 30 to 50 kids. Owners, get all the young ones in your family, along with your guests, geared up and find a nice spot on the dam.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
The how and why.
Years ago when I was looking for a lake front cabin I stumbled across a realtor ad for Lake of the Oaks. There was nothing on the web about our lake.
Everything had to be learned by chasing people down and making phone calls. I couldn't believe that in the age of the Internet, information about the lake was left in the Stone Age. I decided to do something about that when I became an owner.
Always interested in technology, I enjoy providing information and updates to fellow owners and prospects. Please let me know if its working.
