It was a pretty nice day on the 15th at the St. Patrick day celebration in St. Patrick. The food was good, a band was setting up, the gift shop was humming along. Then about 2 inches of snow feel Sat. night and the bottom fell out of the temperature. So the St. Patrick day run on Sunday was a different story. Here's the group that ran the 5K at the starting line. I let Maria do the 5K but only after I was able to set up in a proper support position near the church, just in case anything happened. It was windy and cold, about 25 degrees when they took off. I thought they were all crazy.

The turkey vultures were riding the thermals at about 6:30 this evening. I saw a large bird on the ice down by Gary Hetzel's place. I thought it was odd because I've never know a turkey vulture to sit on the ice. Got my binoculars out and saw it was a bald eagle. It took to the air and then came back down and caught a fish about 5 feet from the shore. Then it took off to a large tree near Bill and Carol Genck's cabin. Sat there in the tree and ate the fish. It was there long enough to where Maria and Antonio could come out and see it in the tree eating. That was pretty cool.
