4th of July weekend was a good one.

This was in the afternoon when the action was dying down a bit.

The beach was getting a lot of use on the 4th. The weather was perfect.

It rained during the Fishing Derby and cut the event a little short. But the fishing was good and even better than in years past.

The 2014 Independence Day weekend was a great time at the lake. Temperatures were mild and made for a great day and comfortable nights. It rained on Saturday and cancelled the boat races. Thanks to Beth Davis and Sandy Clinton for the nice shirts the kids received for registering for the race. The races have been rescheduled for Labor Day weekend. The Fish Fry was well attended and the raffle was a success. Other than a little rain, it was a great weekend.

It was our first year at the lake for the 4th of July and it was great. The fire work display that the individual owners put on was wonderful. Our sons had a blast fishing in the derby and playing on the beach that is very well maintained. Thanks to all the people that make the lake a clean and friendly place.

The how and why.

Years ago when I was looking for a lake front cabin I stumbled across a realtor ad for Lake of the Oaks. There was nothing on the web about our lake.

Everything had to be learned by chasing people down and making phone calls. I couldn't believe that in the age of the Internet, information about the lake was left in the Stone Age. I decided to do something about that when I became an owner.

Always interested in technology, I enjoy providing information and updates to fellow owners and prospects. Please let me know if its working.
