Let's build a History page.

I'd like to build a History page on the website.  This photo comes from Stanley Varner, a long time resident of the lake.

If you have old photos of the lake that would help illustrate its evolution, I would like to scan them for the website.  I will return the photos you give me and they will not be damaged in any way.  You can email me if you have some, my address is tchornstein@gmail.com  I'll make arrangements with you to get the photos by mail or I can pick them up at the lake.  Also, if you would like to give them to Bob Bergman, he can get them to me.  This could really get interesting if we can gather photos from many sources.

Click on this image to see a brochure from the early 80's as well.  Provided by Stanley Varner.

Best guess is that this is from the early 80's. Photo provided by Stanley Varner.

I really enjoyed the brochure's 1985 planned "improvements". thank goodness those days are gone.

I did the layouts for these brochures back in the 80's when I worked at Pioneer Advertising...little did I know! :D

That's pretty neat Carol. I heard this weekend that there was a commercial made and it ran on local stations. That would be awesome to find.

Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.

    The how and why.

Years ago when I was looking for a lake front cabin I stumbled across a realtor ad for Lake of the Oaks.  There was nothing on the web about our lake.

Everything had to be learned by chasing people down and making phone calls.  I couldn't believe that in the age of the Internet,  information about the lake was left in the Stone Age.  I decided to do something about that when I became an owner.

Always interested in technology, I enjoy providing information and updates to fellow owners and prospects. Please let me know if its working.
